national carrot cake day(;

hey! happy CARROT CAKE DAY 🙂 i didnt even know until an hour after breakfast! so im reusing a photo, i just have to because my eats involved unpictured carrot cake creations today… but what would i do without carrot cake?

yum(:

okay the FUNNIEST (in an ironic way) thing happened on monday. my housecleaner was vaccuming and singing like spanish music to her ipod (hahahah) and then she accidently pushed my computer down the stairs… and it kept falling… 5 floors! so i brought it to the mac store praying they could fix it and they said they could within the week 😀 thank goodness. got stress? let them eat ice cream- !

mango ice cream with shredded coconut and raisins. i had this right after basketball yesterday and oh my gosh, i was in heaven!

what is one food you can rely on to calm you down or even just make you happy? 😉

when i was younger toasted cinnamon raisin bagels with peanut butter were my favorite. i had this bar and warmed it up and it brought me back to then 🙂 some things will never change i think!

AH!! maya gold green and blacks bar- honestly couldnt resist this bar, the name, or the taste. reminds me of a special girl 🙂 im trying to think of something creative i could do with it… any ideas!?

my mom was asking me to define health to her today and i laughed because i felt as if i could answer it in one split second! but then i started thinking and wondering… what is health? its not how much you weigh, or how much you eat, or the struggles you have had-health is your view on the world, and what you get out of it. its how you live and how you learn – theres nothing i treasure more then the life i have recieved.

you are beautiful! have an amazing night and thursday XOXO

love always, soph 😀

It is difficult to define health.. but I think you did a great job in your definition. It’s all about how we see it. Nothing to do with a number or an amount.

  10. Health is hard to define, I agree! I think it’s both a state of mind and a physical strength…that you treat your whole body well, inside and out!

Chocolate always calms me down, no matter what!

  11. I’ve had that Maya Gold bar before! It was reallyyyy good 🙂 I have a mild addiction to chocolate

Health IS hard to define. But it definitely encompasses physical/mental/spiritual

  12. I would probably die if my computer fell down the stairs. IT might be fine, but the same could not be said for myself! :p

Health is definitely hard to define… I think it’s really more a state of mind than anything else. Not in a purely physical sense, of course!

    ❤ ❤

  13. Hey girl! Sorry to hear about your lap top my aunt had a similar problem with her cleaning lady but she was stealing things as well. LOL.:) I bet yours much nicer then that haha. Besides the computer it seems like you had a pretty great day! Mango ice cream sounds amazing especially with coconut yummmmm 🙂 have a great day love you xoxo brookiee

  14. haha glad you can find the humor in that situation! i had a similar one and almost killed the person who pushed it down the stairs (that was me btw) hahaha.
love you girlie! and no worries, i did carrot cake day yesterday lmao oh well…

  15. I haven’t had carrot cake in sooo long! I need to get on that! I love your perception of “health”! I never thought about it that way before but it’s absolutely true! Have a fantastic day! -Kylee

  16. Oh wow, your poor computer!! Glad it’s fixable though! And I love cinnamon raisin bagels.. oh yum. And a food that always makes me happy is oats. Don’t know why. Total comfort food for me.

And it is hard to define “health.” Wow… you’ve really got me thinking about that one!

  17. National carrot cake day? No way! Haha.. that’s awesome. Too bad I had no idea, now it’s too late to have carrot cake anything.

Lol, I don’t know what I would do if my computer fell down the stairs because I’m pretty sure it would die. I love it so much.. I would be absolutely heartbroken!

Ugh, there are so many different aspects to health. It’s expressed in everything you do and it’s so easy to go overboard with it. Finding the right balance is key but the journey to it isn’t always easy.

  18. For me, health is a way of life. It is eating what makes you happy, eating fresh, eating sustainably. It is wearing clothes you love and laughing a lot. It is doing yoga or some other form of exercise that you LOVE doing and enjoying it…it’s a mixture of everything that makes a person happy and feel well and strong…

On a more orange perspective….I had no idea carrot cake day existed! brilliant!

  19. Hee, I just read a post, which was dedicated ALL to carrot cake. It also had a whole list of interesting carrot cake recipes.

Health…its really not just a physical thing! It’s a perfect balance and harmony between the spirit, mind, and body. 🙂

  20. Carrot cake day? How did I not know of this before?!
I’m laughing at your computer bouncing down all those stairs, although that’s probably quite mean since the it’s now a poorly computer 😉 Hope it gets fixed ok. And I totally agree with your definition of health.

    Take care

    Sarah x

  21. Oh, Sophie! You are always so insightful and so… Right! Your definition of health is amazing. I’ve never thought much about it, but what you have said is spot on. Health is not about how much you weigh, what you look like physically, how big/little you are, what you eat, how much exercise you do… It’s about how you feel about yourself, how you live, what you do for yourself. It’s so many things, and not all related to the common view, the very shallow view.

You are beautiful, Sophie, and you always know how to make me smile.
    I love you, girlie.

    Eleanor x

  22. Nice eats! Healthy for me is something for the mind and body…difficult to define!

  23. Yum, green and black bar looks GREAT! I just realized you are on CC too 😀 hey, hey!!!

  24. Love your definition of health as something spiritual and internal. I think it’s so true that health comes from within.

The food which calms me down might seem a little odd but it’s polenta made with rice milk. I just love the soft, smooth, velvety texture…makes me feel all peaceful and serene. When I was younger (as in pre-teen) I was all about the jacket potatoes with cheese though…always had to be Red Leicester.

  25. mm your carrot cake oatmeal sounds like the perfect breakfast to me!! didn’t know it was national carrot cake day yesterday ! bummer.

mm that bar looks fantastic 🙂

  26. oh my god…too funny…when i was in high school i brought cinnamon-raisin bagels with peanut butter for lunch as the “sandwich part” EVERY day….good stuff 🙂

  27. I looove carrot cake! Favorite birthday cake… besides Italian Cream Cake 🙂

I’m so glad your mac is okay. If I were you, I probably would’ve freaked out! Your optimism is amazing 🙂

Hmm ideas for the chocolate… of course, as a topping for oats. Maybe you could put on some toast with peanut butter & banana, possibly like a dessert grilled “cheese”?

  28. carrot cake! Love ;).
I think it’s impossible to define health. I tried to but completely failed.
Green and black’s is my favourite chocolate! I’m especially in love with their dark chocolate ice cream. 😉

  29. hey sophie!

ahh happy carrot cake day, lol! that’s so great 😉

i loved bagels + peanut butter when i was younger too. or a bagel smeared with cream cheese + jelly… mmM!

thanks for your comment, i’m glad you liked all my ‘signs’! the ‘do not cross’ one sounds like something i’d want to add to my collection. i do the same thing, i think of what the sign could be telling me. lol, we’re special 😛 but i’m glad you understand 😉

  31. I missed you hun! SO glad to see you back… and that sucks about the computer; I think I would’ve cried. Glad you got it fixed though 🙂

My comfort food is definitely oatmeal in any form. In a bowl, in a cookie, in a muffin. Love, love, love my oats.

  32. Beautiful post girl : )
Hope, you get your Mac back soon! Gzz. FIVE floors? It´s a miracle that they can still fix this!

  33. You are so BEAUTIFUL! Your words… your attitude.. your insight.. everything!

I always look to one of your posts to spice up my day… how else was I supposed to find out about national carrot cake day!?
    hehe

  34. That is too funny about your housekeeper and the computer! I’m really glad it can be fixed.

  35. Ooh I didn’t even know there was such a thing as National Carrot Cake day! Lol. I just learnt something new today!

I’m relieved to here that your computer’s going to be fine and I’m even happier to know that you enjoy G&B’s. I love G&B’s too – usually I eat their chocolate straight. I’m not too creative in the food arena unfortch but I do appreciate good dark chocolate! x)

    xx

  36. A good crunchy local apple will ALWAYS calm me down. I love the maya gold bar too 🙂

  37. Ah your computer is like Humpty Dumpty! Glad everything will turn out okay though. It’s a good thing I live on the first floor of our apartment complex because if my computer fell down a flight of stairs I’d freak… My mom stepped on it once and the week while it was getting fixed I was going crazy. 😉
Definitely agree with your definition of health. You can be as physically healthy as you want, but if the emotional and mental parts aren’t there… No bueno!

  38. I LOVE putting pb on bars!!

  39. heyyy! once again your eats look greatt- (especially that mango icecream) awwhh so bummedd i missed national carrot cake day- iv been dying to try carrot cake oats!
by the way thanks so much for the comment you left, it really meant alottt girlyy(:

  40. mango ice cream with shredded coconut and raisins = nice!

and the bagel w/ PB on it and memory it gave you. I honestly just shot back 20 yrs reading this of yours b/c I used to eat warmed bagels w/ PB after basketball practice when i was in h.s.

    Have a fab weekend honey!

  41. I think in order to be healthy, you have to truly listen to your body.

    xox Vera

  42. I can honestly say that I have never tried carrot cake. I’ve always been the type of person that if I think it doesn’t look good, then I won’t eat it. But I think I need to change that theory and just suck it up and try it! B.T.W. You look so pretty holding your baby cousin. I look forward to the day when my husband and I start our family. Hope you have a great day Soph!
